Presidential spox: Firmer Russian ruble means support to exporters

MOSCOW, Jul 20 (PRIME) -- The strengthening of the Russian national currency requires “fine tuning ”of exporting industries, while balancing it with support of other industries, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.

“The strengthening of the ruble has advantages in general, on the one hand. On the other hand, it requires measures for exporting industries,” Peskov said.

“It requires fine-tuning which we have to think about and implement in advance.”

On Tuesday, President Vladimir Putin suggested that Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev discuss steps concerning the ruble strengthening with the government.
